Joehow 0 Posted September 13, 2010 I searched for this but couldnt seem to find exactly what i was looking for ( apologies if i missed it though). I have been tempted quite a few times in my on going restoration to swap my restored half leather seats for a set of the limited edition full leathers just to add that early ninetees kitch feel to the car even further. I do however occasionally do the odd evening session on track and in previous cars have found full leather seats to slip and slide all over the place. How do the 205 items fair as in general i think they are very good in terms of seat design and i like what I have now just cant help thinking a set of leathers would complete the car and be abit different especially in a white 1.9. Thanks Joe.
Jrod 7 Posted September 13, 2010 (edited) Yes they are a bit slippery. I use a CG lock and have no issues but if ever its not done up I find myself sliding forward under braking. Edited September 13, 2010 by Jrod
Joehow 0 Posted September 13, 2010 as I thought, I guess if i bought a set and restored them they will be easy to sell on if I i prefer the half leather jobbies. Does anyone have any pictures of them in a ph2 white car?
Ryan 99 Posted September 13, 2010 These are my Goodwood seats, which are a bit darker than 205 leathers I think, but they give a rough idea. Personally I don't find them all that slippy. The side bolsters stop you sliding around too much.
Joehow 0 Posted September 13, 2010 Thanks Ryan thats awesome... hmm i think I like them, its just frustrating as their is a good set up for sale at the mo but I could put the 250 quid to such better use elsewhere on the car

The side bolsters stop you sliding around too much. I much prefer Goodwood ones for that very reason, hold you in alot better than the 205 items, and seem more durable/robust too! Anthony 1,002 Posted September 13, 2010 Odd, as I find that I don't slide around at all in my 205 with full leathers, but from memory did used to in my 309 Goodwood.
Joehow 0 Posted September 13, 2010 having sat in goodwood leathers they do hold you in well, i just found them abit squishy compared to the 205 ones if that makes sense.

It also depends what you use to clean them, i've had some that seem to be 'polished' and they're much slidier than others!
Jrod 7 Posted September 13, 2010 I don't slide sideways, just under hard breaking if not bracing myself I'll slip a touch. I'd never swap for half leathers though as full leather looks cool as.
omega 82 Posted September 13, 2010 though as full leather looks cool as. dont know about cool but freezing in the winter!!!!! and of course theres a big weight penalty/

Anthony 1,002 Posted September 13, 2010 and of course theres a big weight penalty/ What weight penalty is that then? Whilst I didn't physically weigh them, I can't say that I noticed any obvious weight difference between the half-leathers I had previously and the full-leathers I replaced them with... Whilst I didn't physically weigh them, I can't say that I noticed any obvious weight difference between the half-leathers I had previously and the full-leathers I replaced them with... The full leathers use offal for the padding as opposed to sponge. The offal weighs far more..
