Recomendations For An Indoor (garage) Car Cover

Recommended Posts

cRaig

Hey there,

As Ive recently had the 205 back from the paintshop, and its going into winter storage, Id quite like to protect it a little with a car cover of some kind. I know alot of people dislike waterproof car covers, due to the scratches they can cause, but would I be ok with a soft flannel-y car cover just to keep the dust and cobwebs off?

Does anyone have any recomendations of a good one/one that fits a 205 well etc?

Cheers

Craig

A couple of old double duvet covers with any buttons or press-studs removed and the seams cut will do the job of keeping dust off for a bargain price of nothing!

As a poor student living in a cold georgian house I need all the duvets on my bed in the winter months  But I may scratch around some charity shops and see what I can find ;)

I find Mothers are useful for this kind of thing. Mine never throws stuff like this out, it just gradually gets demoted from "best".

I'd actually like any recommendations for a cover that would fit a 205 well. I'm not fussed about paint damage as mine is a state anyway. I just want something to keep the 205 looking discreet whilst it's undergoing work. It'll be in our communal underground car park so I don't want to draw attention to it.

my cars not listed, so the cover would have to be custom made ;)

If the garage is humid it would do more harm than good IMHO.

Humid? I don't believe such conditions exist in the UK, do they? ;)

Agreed, I hadnt considered humidity being a problem over the winter to be honest, not in an unheated but watertight shed. I fear its more likey to get dusty or bumped against etc.

^^ this thread covers most of what I was going to say

Both myself and Pugtorque got ours (outdoor/waterproof) from ebay, the one's designed for Saxo's fit perfectly but I can't remember who the seller was as it was 2-3 years ago. O think it was a Cover Zone one

Possibly like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Citroen-Saxo-Outdoor...=item5889c4143d

This is an example of an indoor one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Garage-Indoor-Car-Du...=item3f0301b8d7

Won't she mark the paint? I have also used old duvet covers before. Scratching only occurs if the material moves. The more breathable the better too and synthetic material tends to absorb less moisture

Old duvet covers are perfect. Two cover mine at all times in the garage
