are the yellow 1.9 gti ones the same? as i have about 12 of those in the garage lol. i didnt think to chek because the spray pattern may have been different lol.

number 3 and 4 wouldnt come out verry easy, and when 3 come out the nozzle / end bit had bent over, and 4 the plastic bit has snapped off and stayed in the hole 'the seal sits on it'

also, any tips to get the stupid long bolts out holding the inlet manifold on? cheers for your help welshpug

the spray pattern is different, the gti ones have 1 nozzle thing, and the mi16 ones have 4 small jet type holes

If i remember correctly, It may have been sandy who suggested that the GTi6 injectors gave a better spray for the fuel to mix with the air

ok, i have been offered a pair of 309 gti shafts, so i am picking them up this weekend. have a gti subframe ready with new arb ushes and 309 bottom arms with new bushes. this will be fitted next weekend after i rip the tu engine out. also have 1.9 gti hubs.

then i am putting the engine back together with gti6 h/g, new cambelt kit and w/p. anfter a good clean and a paint i will fit the engine and box 'with new clutch' and get it fixed in on the mounts. and fit everything mechanicaly, before i start connecting wires up.

where can i get a mi16 ecu un-locked?

Heres the MI16 painted, with fresh GTI 6 Head gasket and Standard Cambelt / tensioners. Just need a ACAV sphere as the plastic part the hose goes onto has broken. i need the n/s one, or left as your looking at inlet manifold.

i have posted in wanted section.

This morning I fitted the gearbox, Which was a new experiance for me with the 'pull' tyoe clutch. i removed the sprung pin, and took off the clutcdh arm, then turned the shaft with mole grips when the box was nearly in, and hooked the fork behind the bearing.

i then had a play with the gears to make sure everything was working and going in ok.

hello. I have just finished painting the engine bay with some high gloss tractor paint. this stuff always shines! and it is strong and resistant and easy to spray with, so all good (because i cant sprey for toffy!)

Also i have a compbrake bias pedal box / tandam master cylinder thingy on its way, so i removed the standard xs one which was a struggle, and ended up with me chisling the top l/h studd out of the box. its all out now tho!

trying to get hold of an engine hoist today, if i get one engine will be in!

road rally car hopefuly. its a weird feeling, buying parts that cost about what i payed for the car! but i enjoy fitting ad fidling with them, im a bit sad like that lol! shell to be painted this week hopefuly, and shouldnt be too many runs in it! will be nice to make a list of the final spec, to compare to others.

im not sure what i am goung to do with the rad, it touches the inlet manifold, thinking about making up some brakets to tilt it a bit, any one got any ideas?

Thanks for the link, its a good idea. think i will give it a go as i have plenty of bits of steel and ally around in the barns.

Picked up a pair of wings on my way up north last night, off sorentopete. and trial ran them this afternoon!

its good to see it all coming together, waiting on paint delivery at the moment. and the tyres, master cylinder, suspension pinch bolts, top mount rubbers, green filters filter, and group N linkages

I went outside this morning at about 0800 hrs, -2 degrees on the leon's thermo! and started measuring for my tempary lower rad mount. i have made up the bar i will be using for now, and i am waiting for the cordless drill to charge up before i can make any holes!

heres a few pics of where i think the rad should go, and theres room above for a oil cooler!.

PS there will be a sump guard fitted so i think the lower part of the rad should be okay :)
