Vw Golf Mkiv - Eating Brake Pedal/light Switches

Recommended Posts

M@tt

The missus golf has eaten about 3 or 4 brake pedal switches since we've had it and i've just noticed that the brake lights weren't working again yesterday. The switch attached to the pedal assembly just stop functioning and needs replacing.

I've replaced the switches with GSF ones which do feel inferior quality to the original one but i wondered if this is a common problem and there maybe a fualt lyng elsewhere causing the switch to prematurely fail.

Cheers

The GSF switches are wank, go and buy a proper VAG one and you'll probably find it doesn't fail again.

You do need to make sure the switch is set up right so that the pedal returns against its stop, and not against the switch stop.
