Moving Intercooler Back A Few Inches

Recommended Posts

grantley1988

As you can see from the pics the cossie cooler is sticking out too much. When the grill is fitted it looks naff as it just sits there with the help of cable ties.....

I would like to move it back so I can fit the grill properley and have the all important sleeper look :D

There is plenty of room to move the intercooler, i just do not no what hose or hoses I need to buy. The right hand side boost pipe has a few inches of room to play with so that is fine, the left hand boost pipe which goes to the throttle bodie is the pain though!!!

What do you suggest? Can I buy an off the shelf s bend? Or does anyone no where I can buy two tight diamiter 90 degree bends?

Had a quick look on Viper Hoses and SFS but there are so many to choose from I would not no where to start!

Hope you guys can help

Best view of the bend. What can i use that will pull the intercooler back a few inches?

we bought an aluminium 90degrees bend and let the weld to the intercooler with an tight radius,

then you only need one silicone bend

I did something similar for M@tt, TIG welded an alloy elbow to the intercooler.

So do I cut the outlet pipe on the intercooler back then weld a 90 bend on? Will any welder be able to do this?

Yes, any decent ally TIG welder will be able to do it.

Slightly O/T; where did you get the car? I recognise the plate for some reason!
