leaf springs and a 2.0 carb engine ftw :D

another forum member woodoouk had a 16v clio engine in a 2 door one, can't remember if it was the 1.8 or a 2.0.

Surely a £4k M3 would need work?

My neighbour has a rather sexy T reg softtop one, he's just been offered 2k for it partex and wants rid, similar ones are on PH for 5k but he doesn't want the hassle.

If I had 4k in my pocket, I'd be knocking on his door!

As a random suggestion, how about a:

Volvo-340-3.jpg

Don't the R5 GTT lot take the 1.7 Volvo engine (From Renault heritage) as a large capacity conversion and then bolt the turbo back on?

RWD, cheap (has to be?) and turbo-able

Could be fun and I don't think you'd get more sleeper than that

I had a 1.7 one a few years back, was good for a bit of sideways fun on mini roundabouts but scary amounts of understeer when pushing on a bit!

You can get a 1.7 turbo in the 440/460/480 coupe thing, only about 120bhp from memory as standard though

Or even easier and more tractable, bolt in an F4/F7 16v Clio engine. ;)

Absolutely love the Volvo!

Here is my RWD blast from the past-I cant remember having so much fun and multi surface venues in all weathers including black ice, taught me so much about rwd. A well set up Mk2 escort on good tyres really is like a big go kart!

You shouldn't joke about such things - here's Mark (Swordfish210) with his Volvo at Llandow a couple of years back... :(

IMG_7761.sized.jpg

Had me in tears of laughter watching it going round, but I don't think Mark rated it as a track weapon

Awwwwww yeeeeaaaah

That was one of the most physically demanding trackdays i have ever done as i spent most of it pulling myself out of the passenger seat having fallen across :D

masda do a 2.5 V6 that in the mx6 that quite pokie, you'll be hard pressed to spend that little and get a car that will be more fun or faster than a 205 with a gti-6 in it.

could pick up a mk2 MR2 turbo but when the back end loses grip its gone driven a few of them in the past and because of the MR set up and all the weight being over the rear wheels is more spin than slide.

i have seen one with a V8 slaped in it but a huge conversion and i bet it cost a far bit too.

only reall option i think you have is a MX5 or enos roadster(impoer version i belive) fantastic handling could do will a bit more power to bet faster than the 205 tho.

That Mazda 2.5 V6 KL-ZE (200hp) will also sit very happily in an a MX3, wich handle brilliantly

As said by most on here MX5!!! Handling is so good! Ok It does look like a tarts car but.... you can forgive that when you drive it sideways.

It is in your head! Sierra's aren't that large, admittedly the only time i've driven our XR4x4 in the last 5 or so years was a few feet across the farmyard, but a friend has one too as a field car, not that powerful but torquey enough to be fun toys! Not sure they'd be that amazing on track as standard though.

190E's are underpowered, even 2.3/2.5 Cos's.

A friend that runs a RR/Tuning Centre has alot of MX5's in & has done a fair few turbo & supercharged conversions now and can't rate them highly enough, been out in a couple and i like! Even Kyepan's standard (power) one is loads of fun!

although it took four corrections last night to get it straight on the way home the club... TANNNNKKKKK SLLAPPPPPPPPPPERRRRRRRR

I want to supercharge mine, it just needs a smidge more poke to turn it into a proper sphincter twitcher

cheers
