Switched Live

Following on from my other thread here regards the dizzy issues I've had.

OK just got the car running on the new dizzy and coil from H&H, happy it works however I don't know where the switched live is.

Now I've removed the old coil and amp, and tried the blue wire that fed to the positive terminal on the old coil and it doesn't seem to work on the new, so I used a cable from the battery directly to ensure the dizzy worked and it does.

So although I've searched and have pics etc, I'm still none the wiser. The wiring to the coil/amp was installed into a plug with a brown and what looks like a cream wire running out of it to the coil/amp. So the cars a phase 1 1.9 running carbs. Where can I find a switched live. Once this is ready I can put the omex back on and get the rev counter working again.

Many thanks in advance.

There should be one on both the old ignition amp and coil - should be wire #2/2A, which from memory on a Phase 1 is connected to the main loom but a single white(ish) connector onto the coil/amp mini-loom (and wire #3 is the switched negative IIRC). Clearly though, the wire that fed the coil positive should be a switched ignition live!

If in doubt, a multimeter is your friend.

cheers Anthony, I'll need to test that wire, the wire that comes out into this mini loom is indeed a white(ish) colour. This will be next weekends adventure but all in I'm glad it works.
