Mi Running Problems

Recommended Posts

Can anyone help me please. Converted the car using 8v distributor the car is a 92 with cat. The car ran lovely pulled well, there was a slight rough running problem which remedied its self and was never a problem. The car went to be painted and when driven back would not pull, bogging down when the accelerator was pressed. On tick over the car is rough as if missing, Each lead removed to check spark and was ok good spark. Removed each injector lead whch produced even rougher running. When i removed the plugs each one was blackened and coked up suggesting over fueling?.

Do you alter the mixture with the screw on the air flow meter? am scratching my head at the moment this is my forth car and i have never had any problems with the others. Was very impressed with the mi it makes you wonder why peugeot never produced the car with the 16v engine.

Cheers, Max.

to adjust the mixture you use the screw on the AFM, in is richer out weaker, if the car is running rich you could try a new temp sensor for the ecu as if this is faulty then it can make the car run rich. Once you get it sorted i would then fit the correct dizzy and wiring, far better than on the 8v loom and well worth doing.

good luck

....but it only adjusts the idle mixture. It has no impact on the fuelling through the rest of the rev range.

surely it affects the mixture right until the flap is wide open, as there's more/less air bypassing the flap?
