Gearboxes are weak. They are very slow, or at least the 2.7 TD I drove was.

yeah i did hear that, will have a read up

what do you need a 4x4 for?

dunno really, fed up with cramming the kids in a rock hard suspension'd coupe and wincing everytime i go over a piece of gravel :) ?fed up with no boot space? mid life crisis? pick one.

plus if i get a trailer i can pull it no worries, or maybe i am just future proofing myself for the end of the world (not exactly sure about the terranos 4x4 capabailtie though)

i'll probabally hate it after two months and get rid anyway

and Tom, i'm lookng at the 2.4 petrol model and yes it was slowish but i wasnt expecing much fro a 4x4 really

I'd buy a decent estate not a 4x4, or a van with a second row of seats.

Hi i had the misfortune of owning one when i lived out in the sticks.

well to sum it up i hated driving it

I found it not hard to drive, but it certainly took a lot of effort,

Now the engines are bulletproof, they are the same engine as the old fairway black London cabs, 2.7 Nissan with a turbo added on

Fuel consumption is ridiculous and it certainly falls in the three streets to a fiver category :D

Unless you have a burning desire to own one, i would say well clear

I lost three grand on it after a year and a half of ownership, selling it for a mere £800.00 in the end, just to get rid of it!

To top that off Nissan parts are really expensive with much of it dealer only

but i didn't have to do much maintenance on it other than servicing it.

And don't get me started on those bundles of junk freelanders :o

freelanders are complete s*it :o worked on a few with the common head problems that rover engines are reknown for.

as for the 4x4 mate there not great on fuel and def not the fastest car on the block but good for moving things and space etc i have a shogun v6 as far as that goes its ok dont use it much tho as have a another daily driver, worth looking into if after as can pick them up cheap

i have come to deal with the bloke and have managed to swap the wifes turdy rover 416 and a small amount of cash for it.

its just something i have to do i think and at least at this price i cant fail (famous last words)

i'll just have to drive the pug more if i hate it that much :o

someone remind me of this post in a couple of months when you see a 'i f*cking hate this sh*tty piece of cr*p terrano' post :D

yeah bout time too, i ended up driving it more than the missus as she always had the xsara, cheeky cow :o

if i can get her to insure the terrano i can keep the xsara and the terrano if not the xsara will go to pay for some cheap runaround for her

Jeep Cherokee 4.0L LPG would've been my choice if you're after a 4x4 with power, fuel economy and on a tight budget!
