Gti-6 Throttle Body, Pipe Not Connected?

Recommended Posts

fatony1

I have a pipe on the throttle body on my GTI-6 lump that isn't connected to anything, should it be connected up? In this picture its the small straight pipe to the left of the yellow sensor.

Anthony

Block it up as it's not needed on 205 GTi-6 conversions.

It normally connects to the fuel vapour purge valve (I can't remember the proper name now) that is located on the OSF wing on 306's.

Cheers Anthony. I was going to post another thread but i think it might be related. Basically the car runs and revs up fine, but it seems like it takes a good 3-4 seconds to settle back down to idle after being revved. Is the fact this pipe isn't (yet) blocked up the cause? Or is a sensor in the throttle body on its way out?

Thanks in advance :)

It well might be the cause. It takes the ECU idle control some time to figure out how much air is needed if there is air running past the throttle and ICV.

Do I still need to connect the red inline filter thing or can I just leave it off?
