Fast Tick Over And Limiting To 4k Ml4.1

hi,

 

ive got a problem as the engine is up to tempriture it's ticking over at 1500 revs and is limiting itself to 4000 revs, ive checked the temp switch, trottle position and air flow meter's wires. ive also checked trottle position is switching and for risistance across the switch, now had to pack up due to light.

 

ive not wired the k light up as unsure of the ecu pin out number on the ecu, but would i correct in thinking it will be in limp home mode so giving a preset reading for one of the vairiables, ie eng temp, air mass, intake temp ? or its diagnosed a fault and needs to be cleared ?

 

any help would be great as my head hurts and need a bit of insparation for tomorow

Throttle position sensor sounds very likely given the 4k rev cap. They can be adjusted I believe.

i'll double check the wire's back to the ecu as it was giving the correct voltages at closed, part and full openings acording to caps bible.

 

i now know why people think of making there own looms up.
