Think Something Is Missing On Rear Brake Set-up

my car has had the rear beam swapped so im running 1.9 gti disc on the rear but have a feeling theres something missing after seeing this pic on another thread

 

is this the compensator or brake bais? as its not on mine and sure it was on my old 1.9gti

205's don't have a compensator like that, they have a valve on each front to rear pipe. That looks similar to a 106 one but I don't recognise what that beam is off.

Yup, as said, that looks like a 306 beam to me.

 

205 ABS models do have a vaguely similar compensator to that (but one on each side, rather than a combined single unit) but all non-ABS 205's do not. 1.9's will have a pair of in-line compensators just in front of the fuel tank, and 1.6 GTi's have a single compensator on the nearside front chassis leg.

 

So basically, don't worry that yours doesn't look like that picture - it's not supposed to!

That picture looks to be the underside of a 306\ZX\Xsara which is why it doesn't look like yours. :) (As per Welshpug!)

actually I posted yhat picture in another thread :D its a nile blue gti6 with BNE 1932 rear dampers.
