Wheel Spacers

Recommended Posts

I want to space my rear wheels out a bit, can the standard studs take 10mm spacers or is it better to get longer studs or bolt on spacers?

Definately wouldn't use standard bolts with 10mm spacers, would probably only screw in about a couple of turns.

You can get some from the group buy section on here but I'm not sure of the length, or you can buy extended wheel stud conversion kits on eBay for about £50 :)

just thought the car would look nicer if the rear offset matched the front..purly an anal thing!

no need, FWD cars seem to work best with the rear track being narrower than the front, 106/saxo handle well, and they are the same track as a 205 at the front, and 40mm narrower at the back.

Because they have nothing else to do but answer your questions about why it's been a common modification for years? :)

Thicker bars basically, that and the added track-width, and is usually done with the front too, not that that changes massively.

As Baz said, people generally fit them with 309 front arms to provide a wider track all-round.
