A Quick Game!

Recommended Posts

Ok, quick game.

I decided to do my cam belt, thought while I was at it I would do the water pump. Thought I would do the tensioner while I was in amongst.

In for a penny, may as well do the head gasket at the same time. Bugger it, I will re-build the head as I will have it all to bits!

Anyway, I ordered all of the bits today and they landed on my desk with a receipt for 56 quid at 11.30 am. Bugger, what started as a good idea now means I am gonna have to get my paws dirty again!

Anyway, opened out the head set and obviously there are parts that are mon required (as with any head set)

From the below crap iPhone picture, who can correctly identify all of it?

Just a bit of sport for a Saturday evening.

You're a bit late, or early.

I've crossed out the ones I don't think you'll need but from your picture I can see;

  • 1; thermostat gaskets (one either side).
  • 2; exhaust manifold gaskets.
  • 3; thermostat end housing.
  • 4; Inlet manifold gasket (between cylinder head & housing).
  • 5; Rocker cover.

Not sure about what's in the bag?

Graham.

In the bag looks like stem seals, another O-ring like the 'stat gaskets, and possibly a copper crush washer or similar?

And in the box will be the cam seal.

Cardboard box prevents oil leaks from staining the driveway and is standard Peugeot fitment.

Yup, you would have thought at 30 I would know what day of the week it is, I don't work Thursday so get confused!

I got the bits through my parts dept at work. I pay cost plus 1% as long as I don't take the piss.

In the bag is as stated, 8 stem seals, 2 crush washers and a large black rubber O ring

Those marked with question mark, one is for the turbo oil drain and the other could well be for sealing that hole on the side of the iron block, which is covered by metal plate.

Cheers
