What Con Rods

Recommended Posts

backroadpug

hi all im in the middle of a 106 gti engine conversion to my 205 rallye

Iam looking to get some uprated conrods and am undecided

the 2 i am looking at are GMC budget h beam rods and THSperformance conrods both come with arp bolts and direct replacement for standard rods. there is a 61 buck saving between these.

has any one or know any one that has used any of these and any coments would be app.

cheers richard

Not being funny but why do you think you need uprated conrods? The TU5 ones are pretty decent as it goes. (the 16v ones are fully floating compared to the bushed 8v ones)

Unless the existing ones are worn enough to be scrap I'd stick with the originals

The cheap ones you can buy are usually of Chinese origin and I'm not fully convinced of their quality from the ones I've seen so it would be a gamble as to if they were any better than the standard ones Peugeot endowed this engine with!

I'd personally spend the money on something else like a properly flowed head or something :o
