205 Gti Required For Viewing

Recommended Posts

cybernck

I recently got this from Corgi, a diecast manufacturer:

I work for the diecast brand Corgi and have been asked to undertake some research into one of our latest projects, a diecast replica of the Peugeot 205 Gti. In order to complete our research and produce a model to be proud of we would ideally like to view a good example of the 205 GTi. As a result I believe that yourselves are the perfect people to contact.

We would ideally like to view a standard 205Gti 1.6 or 1.9, however if you know of any Rallye models, in the South East that could also be viewed that would be excellent as we are currently planning to produce models of this as well.

I thought it best to make contact this way with yourself rather then just joining the forum and throwing threads around, as you may already know who is best to contact, as well as having any tips for further research and information.

Thanks a lot for any info you may have and any help you may be able to provide, It’s nice to be able to research something interesting and from one owner of a French hot hatch to another, something to actually get excited about!

Is anybody able to help out?

If so, please post a photo of your car here and we'll take it from there.

Thanks.

I'm just outside what would typically be called the South East, but I've got an almost standard '91 1.9 GTi that they'd be welcome to take a look at if there's no one closer to them, which I find hard to believe there won't be :o

Dave's being a little facetious, as I'm not exactly known for spending hours slaving away with elbow grease making my cars gleam... :o

He seems convinced that he'll have to perform CPR on me if I view it without it being washed first. I have changed Anthony, honest :)

Are you getting it dude?

It would be good if it stayed within friends' hands!

Would be curious to see it with a Mi heart!

My silver one was good enough to go in classic and sports car and walk away with second place in the standerd show and shine at pug fest this year. It is all so parked up in a nice warm workshop and I am in portsmouth.

Nik,

Is this a new request? - only Corgi came and measured up my 205 about 4 weeks ago for this new model. I'd kept quiet as I'd been sworn to secrecy!

They were here for around 3 hours and I got paid in Scalextric! Contacted through PH.

I'll elaborate on it when the model comes out - suffice to say the first 1000 will have my numberplate on :(

Simes, not a new request, just that it took me quite a while to post it on here.

I guess I should remove this post then :).

Hopefully there will be a proper 1.9 Ph2 diecast model out there soon :P.

Are they going to produce it in a number of colours?

From what I understand they will be making many colours of GTI. But as the cost of creating the tooling is high they are also aiming to produce as many variants of 3 door 205 as possible....including base models and Rallyes etc.

I was chatting to one of the researchers about the possibilites of a Griffe or even a 1FM.

I'm not sure when the model is due out.

ps.

The scalextric is great, I choose the Endurance set which is the longest one they do! It's only got me to get my old track and cars out and clean it up, buy some more track (today) suffice to say the spare bedroom has quite a large track set up! Might even start a thread on restoring and modifying a scalextric 1980's Ford Sierra RS500
