Bug Arse Remover

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recommend some good products for removing spattered bug arse from my car? It currently looks like midge a mortury :D

Tried cleaning my windscreen the other day with neat super strength screen wash, and after about 10 minutes of scrubbing it looked clean. Then I used the wipers on it and from inside I could see there was still smeared insect arse all over it. Is this what they make superglue out of? <_<

Get a hold of some traffic film remover [tfr]. Autosmart/autoglym/meguairs Spray that on neat let it sit 5 mins scrub then hose it off. If you still have problems then use hot soapy water and a scrapper blade and it'll lift any other things. If you put some glass polish on it, it will be easier to clean next time :D

I've got one of those sponges with cloth on one side and just normal sponge on the other, I can't for the life of me remember what it's called but the cloth side is abrasive enough to take all the bug arse of the window without scratching it. I got them from halfords.

I've just found it, it's called the Decosol Microcell Sponge and they're £3.29 (halfrauds price) I don't even have to use any glass cutters or cleaners, just car shampoo and the sponge.

Make sure you clean the wiper blades too, otherwise that can make it much worse.

TFR is good stuff but it will also remove all the polish from your paint!

Autoglym do a "Intensive Bug Remover" which I have tried and seems pretty good.

I just use a wet paper towel lay it over the top let it soak through properly for about 20 minutes, it will soak through the natural material then jet wash off. The bonus part is it's free B).

Warm water is best to use.

You need a sponge like this:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fly---Bug-Sponge-%2f...0e3ca03fe004f88

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CAR-VALETING-PRODUCT...0e3ca03fe004f88 (the sponge on the right)

Petrol stations in the continent have it where you fill in water/air as after travelling down the autobahn your windscreen soon becomes clogged with insects and there is no way to remove them apart from making regular stops every few hours.
