Weekend Aa Cover?

Recommended Posts

Fox

I'm going to do Lands end to John O'Groats in the 'new' 309 GTi!

We aim to do it in a long weekend.

Can I get weekend cover from a recovery service?

Why don't you join a cashback website? I know that with topcashback I got RAC cover for about £10 after the cashback (took about 10 weeks), that was the most basic, but other levels are available.

That way you'd have annual cover for very very little. And it's you that's covered, it's not specific to a vehicle (I used to assume this was the case).

Mark, that sounds ideal, I'm signed up on one of them, topcashback I believe! I'll look into it...

And the 309...

Make sure you get relay, we didn't realise we didn't have it a few years back. Quite annoying when the AA can't bring you home ;)

I didn't think any 205 owner wouldn't have breakdown cover, you must be mad! ;)

Adecent array of tools and some well chosen spares are much more valuable! I've only walked away from a broken 205 twice in 14 years . Both occasions were dead batteries which I should have replaced so my own fault.

For a Lands End to John O'Groats why not also have a network of us GTidrivers along your route who could help out with spares / tools if needed? (you're welcome to my tel. number if required :( )

I've only been towed home twice in 12 years, and both times it was quicker to tow it home ourselves than wait for the RAC.

With AA membership you get a choice of either covering a specific driver or a vehicle. For around £6/month you can get cover on yourself which will then mean that any vehicle you drive will be covered in the event of a breakdown. Then when you don't need it anymore just cancel it, although for such a small amount each month it's good piece of mind.

Just before you go on your trip take out full AA cover. Then when you get back cancel it.
