Quick Quesion About Rear Beam Re-build

Recommended Posts

joelpsmith

I'm just getting my beam back together and putting the new seals in the tube. The metal sleeve that they sit in only protrudes about 6mm from the end of the tube, and this doesn't look like it's enough for the seal to be fully inserted, with 1-2mm still sitting proud of the sleeve. Can someone just confirm if this is correct, or if the sleeve has to be adjusted.

Also, the bearing sits flush with the end of the tube, does this have to be pushed in further?

Thanks.

The metal ring that the seal sits in does not push all the way up to the shoulder on the beam tube. If you have a look at some peoples beam pics you will see what I mean.

then fit arms to crossmember and set trailing arms to desired height, fit torsion bar/s with adjuster stud wound in and secure at outer end with offset washer and csk screw.

setting clearance between body of seal to CUP on Trailing arm shaft (0.05 mm)

then set in place by winding the stud out -
