Just Waved Goodbye To The 205

Recommended Posts

zebedy101

Well after bloomin months of thinking and mind changing finally the 205 has gone. I put it up on eBay last friday, someone came and veiwed it Sunday put a deposit down and drove away in it today.

Too say I'm gutted to see it go is an understatement.....

But I now have a 106 diesel as a run around and it looks set to save me £300 per month which I am chuffed about.

Just a quick final picture of the 205 before it left.....

How much did you get for it if you don't mind me asking?

I didn't see it in the car park today so assumed it had gone, saw the little 106 but thought you couldn't be driving that!!

It went for £1300 in the end which I and the buyer was pretty happy with to be honest. I can't say that if this time in a few months a nice turbocharged 205 comes up I won't buy it.

You will be back to the 205 in due course mate. I think what you have done is, whilst tough, is the right thing to have done. It's a still Peugeot after all. Is it true however that your girlfriends car is quicker? She claims it is!

Yeah Sophs car is actually quicker than mine, by a good margin too. Very embarasing, but she actually said she saw a Gt4 yesterday and asked if I wanted to go and look at it ;)

I wouldn't venture near a GT4 if running costs are the thing that dictated the need to sell the pug Seb. Not yet a least. But well done on the sale. Regards running costs, I can hardly talk as I'm looking at/thinking off a V12 BMW??

1.5 Diesel N/A power is already taking it's toll on me. My god it's slow, it's a brilliant car but pulling out of junctions is positively dangerous.

Well the St205 Gt4 is coming, I have a massive soft spot for them and wanted one for such a long time and now I can also insure one cheaper than the 205 oddly enough. I had to sell the 205 so I could pay off some debts and sort out some proper savings really. I plan on saving for 3 or 4 months then spalshing out on a Gt4 at the end of the year, in all honesty the 106 will possibly stay also.

The 106 look errrr.............................nice!?

Cant believe you sold the 205, your mad!

And to want a GT4! you sad the 205 was costing a bomb well the gt4 will cost a hell of a lot more! even if you do work for Toyota!

How fast you had out the 106 yet? I had 96mph flat out in mine when I had it new, though mine was a 1.4d Keywest! Jane had a 1.5d Escapade and manage to get the to 98mph with a back wind and a big hill, could never manage to get 100mph! so the challange is on!

Haha the challenge is on Carl....

I have hit 70mph once so far ;) I'm not sure I'll make it to 80 but we will see. I knew you may be a little dissapointed with the Gt4 choice Carl but it has to be done.

I will be back in a 205 soon enough though

a good 1.5 D shouldn't be that bad, never had an issue puling out of junctions with mine or my mates one, overtaking I sometimes did mind ;)

A good one will go off the clock

Well I have successfully hit 85mph tonight and I can safely say it was so unstable, I was actually quite scared. Not something I'm going to be trying again.

I have added to the fleet today, I bought a 206 Gti 140. Unfortunatly though it's not something I'm going to be keeping. It was a silly cheap price so it made sense to buy with the intention of selling on.

I had a 1.4d, 80mph max on the flat. Cheapest car to run you can buy though. Don't think I ever went to a petrol station in the 2 years I owned it! ;)

It's superb on fuel. I put £5 in on Wednesday and have done 50ish miles so far.

An AX will as its a lot lighter, and in fact quite quick, ish but no way would mine or Janes do any more no mater how we tried! And try I did!!
