Citroen Bx Xu9j4z Full Rebuild!

Recommended Posts

CoolMaN®

Hello,

it's time to rebuild my Citroen BX 16V 148hp (DFW) XU9J4Z

I've already started to buy original parts but most want to draw attention to the engine.

Surely you've already written on such topics, so please excuse me.

First we started with sump oil control.

Thanks for the information from the site of Peter Taylor.

This is my sump oil in the moment

What would you recommend to do?

- Trap door, custom made or completed sump?

- Windage tray?

- Oil Pump Spring 6bar?

- 26 Tooth sprocket and 52 link chain?

- Chain Guard (not supprted to XU9J4)?

Thank you in advance. :)

Ops... this is my car

New question,

Piston and Liner is NFP, what would you recommend aftermarket?

I want to increase compression of my engine 10.4+

Thank you

Thank you whizzer71, I love this car and will keep.

The original wheels are in my garage, they are 14". New, these from the photo above are from Peugeot 405, 15".

I had to change them because replace original 266mm front discs and pads to 283mm from Xantia 2.1TD.

Guys can you help me in choosing?

Can I change my oil pump from XU9J4 with new XU10J4R or XU10J4RS? Will I fit on my engine?

The price also varies.

XU9J4 - 218EUR (part number - 1001 56)

XU10J4R - 92EUR (part number - 1001 77)

XU10J4RS - 170EUR (part number - 1001 86)

?

Any of those pumps will fit onto your engine but you will also need the crankshaft pinion wheel to get the correct gear ratio & chain for the right length.

This post lists quite a lot of the oil pump, chain & crankshaft pinions for the XU9 & 10 but those for the XU10J4RS are;

  • 1001.86 pump
  • 1033.10 chain, 52 links
  • 0513.78 pump control pinion 26 dts

Those listed for the XU10J4R also use the 52 link chain & 26 tooth pump control pinion. (1033.10 chain & 0513.54).

Graham.

is there anything wrong with the pump? it has been said many a time that pug/citroen oil pumps are on the whole very long lasting.
