Hi guys, been attacking my gti with a sanding pad and grinder and have chopped and welded the bottom of the b-pillar and removed all surface rust from the bottom of the rear quarter/seal panel, but now ive come to a problem with what type of sealer to use when filling the gap between the rear quarter and seal as i know silicone based products dont like to take paint ...

any product knowledge would be very greatful

thanks

Trouble with tiger seal etc is it flexis and the paint wil flake off .The standard stuff is seam sealer but i used decorators cork its cheaper and easier to get off again B and Q sell it about £1 a tube for a mastic gun

Correction - caulk. Not trying to be a wanker, just pointing it out so it's easier for anyone wanting to search the internet for caulking products :)

Proper single pack PU seam sealer. Available from your paint factor. Proper stuff that can be overpainted.

but the shell flex would cause a non flexible sealer to crack, so i would go fo a pu seam sealent, which you can put in a caulk gun
