Short Wipers For Sunstrip

I need to change the front wiper blades on my 205 and thought I may as well get some short ones so that they will pass the MOT as I have a PTS sun strip.

 

I was wondering what size have other people got so that they don't touch the strip, and where did they buy them?

depends how deep the strip is!

If you could get them to fit a set from an original mini would probably be small enough

The strip is one made by oz in the group buy a while back. I haven't fitted it yet but will be making it as deep as possible with the wipes that I can get. I was just wondering what everyone else had fitted to get theirs through the mot.

Land rover defenders seem to have 13 inch wipes so may try a set of those

There are some MOT stations that are more understanding than others.

when is your MOT next due? If soon then fit the strip afterwards alternatively go to Halfords as they stock loads of sizes and have a table explaining what size is needed for what car. With a Halfords trade card they are half price, PM me if you need a template to get one.

just use an old set of wipers and cut off enough so it clears the sun strip. just bung them on for the mot.

I have an old mini one thats cut down to suit, did the trick, in fact it was the mot tester that put it on!!

I tried a set of these on my 205 for the mot, problem is that even though they would clear the sun strip they didn't really sweep the whole screen and I got a fail anyway.

 

I changed mot stations this year so no problems.

Thanks for the replies. I think I will try to get hold of some cheap universal fit short wipers for the MOT. It seems as though it is mainly down to where you get the MOT as to whether it will fail.
