206 Vs 205

Two of my favourite features of the 206 are how the steering column tries to eat your toes when you are on the clutch (if you have full size feet!) and the other is how it drags the inside rear wheel when turning on full lock and ruins the tyre. Thats my experience of the 206. It is definetly the worst Peugeot i have driven, and i have driven most of the range over the last few years. Another point that i found shocking was that my old 1.9 8v 405 Carb (No power!!!) was far quicker in a straight line and around corners than a 206 1.6 16v which was supposedly a 'sporty' model. The 405 was far more sure footed and confidence inspiring despite it having already acquired the nickname "The Boat" (when compared to my 306).

The best place to see if the 206GTI is a good car comparing it to the 205 are on B roads, going to give you an example i live in Madeira Island for those who´ve been here and know the roads, they are very tricky to drive...a few years ago i had a problem with my 205, he simply didn´t want to start, i´ve called my father who owns a 206GTI to come rescue :).. after a few minuts around the car, we´ve managened to put the car working again, so my father said i take the 205 home and i drove the 206.....on the way home i could not get closer to him, he´ve push harder on 205..and i was always behind me on a distance apart of 4 cars. The 206 it has more confortable interior, the driving position it´s not the best one...i believe that the 206 would be more sporty car if it had the citroen saxo 16v engine on it.

A few weeks ago my father went to a Peugeot dealership for they remape the ecu for the last model and they can say it´s rev better but no way near the 205.
