What Is It About This Time Of Year?

Recommended Posts

Bit random but I've just realised that every August I get the itch to buy a 205:

2008 bought the 1.6 rally car

2009 bought a nice 1.6 road car

2010 I'm back to looking for another nice road car, maybe a 1.9 this time

What is it that attracts me to 20 year old French cars with their dodgy electrics?

How do the rest of you cope with this "illness"?!!

The 205 I was planning on buying this year seems to have vanished! I wanted myself a Ph1 Red 205 Van.

I've only stopped buying them because I've run out of room :)

At least I'm far from alone!

Think I might have enough when I've got one of each colour so that'll keep me occupied for another few years yet.

Sometimes i think if i win the lottory i'll have one in each colour, in both 1.6 and 1.9 form, plus dimma's, tt's, mi16's, everything.

Don't forget a couple of T16's, they would be top of my list :)

I have just discovered the other side of the coin. After having bought 6 of the damn things in the last five years I just sold my first one.

Weird, it's the opposite for me. Every year around August I get the urge to buy an E30 or E36 M3.. I think it has something to do with my choice of summer holiday destination.

And this. Although i've well and truly got the urge to scratch that itch now. <_<

As much as i hate to admit it, i've been seriously looking at the c0ck's choice, an M3 for the money they're down to these days!

Nah, it's ideally run alongside a 205... :)

Well a bit late this year but it happened again

I've now gone and added this to the family - bought from Andy aka AJA GTi yesterday.

Left Nantwich at about 5:30, arrived in Inverness at 1am after a steady run covering 400 faultless miles. Just need to give it a clean again now

I really want a e36 328i. I don't think i could bear to part with the pug though, not after I've put so much work into it!

That's a gorgeous car and is the exact model, colour and year of the first 205 I ever experienced. I was only just driving and a mate had it. I vowed from that point that I would own one some day.

I spent the whole of august rebuilding it..

Stress, strain, hand always scratching down to the last pounds in my pocket every week fixing it.. Then after last night, my first run with no problems.. I realised thats why we bother :)

And half the dash lights still need looking at.. ;)
