Top Engine Mount Removal

Well after having a wobbily gear stick and coming on here it could be the drive shafts or engine mounts. Driveshafts are both new, Lower engine mount and gearbox mount fine.

So i took the engine moung cover off to find the top mount in half! now i cannot get the bugger out! what is the technique? is it hit the groove bits anti clockwise? or further down on the metal ring?

 

At least i can sort the wobble out now and the car will be perfect once again

Its done now Ihave to learn to be less gentle whn removing things!

I often use a oil filter wrench.

Hammer and chisel on the metal lip, comes out no problem.

or even better air chisel.
