306 Hubs With 309 Wishbones

Recommended Posts

I fitted the above yesterday and on refitting the steering rack the wheels were pointing in different directions (front of the wheels pointing away from each other).

Is anyone else running this set up with a standard rack? As to adjust it the track rod ends would have to be wound out quite a way.

If you were running 205 wishbones previously, then fitting 309 wishbones will give you significant amounts of toe-out - you'll need to wind the TRE's out around 6-7mm each side to get the tracking back in the right ballpark.

There is alot of thread inside the track rod, so you can wind the TRE's out a long way before you would have any problems.

Does anything need modifying to fit the 306 hub carriers?

I have gti6 front hubs on my car and they are a straight fit. They have gave me positve camber though even with 309 arms :)

So they aren't a straight fit then? :)

I know they'll bolt straight on, but I meant are all the parts in the right place i.e. is the distance from the strut axis to the balljoint the same as it is on the 205 hub carriers. If you ended up with positive camber then I'd guess the offset is greater than it is on the 205.
