Resistor?

evening all

 

done a search but all it brings up is about fan resistor.

 

can anyone advise what the resistor behind bumper under the N/S headlamp is for? it is same resistor as the rad fan one just got a lot thinner wires on it.

You only have side lights without it, with it you have dim-dips - these are actually worth having on, the side lights on their own are so dim you may as well not use them once moving.

are you saying side lights on the front's are pointless ? haha

 

im running without dim/dip, so just have sidelights/dip and mainbeam..

 

im thinking i should still pass an MOT ? would i be right in thinking this ?

Yeah, I don't think there is any requirement for dim-dip to work. TBH even if there is, the tester has to be awake enough to realise that the 205 should have them!

Thanks for the reply although I do not see the need for it,other cars manage just fine without one.

Nice to know what it is there for though.
