Fitting 17's On A 205

the cars lowered around 30mm or so i think what needs to be done to fit 17's and can it be lowered any more with the 17's or is this a big no no

will be keeping the 15's for trackdays etc but everyday use will have 17's on as cant afford to drive fast or will lose my licence again which not in a hurry to do :lol:

You will need to trim back the lips on the plastic arches but other than that they will fit fine.

 

One I had a few years back had 17's on when I bought it and it was lowered about 50mm.

it will depend on the offset of the wheel aswell.

 

i had 17s and they are OK and tyres can be bought pretty cheap, but half the cheap 17s dent so easily!

Cheap 17's will probably weigh nearly twice as much as standard wheels, read up on how increasing or decreasing unsprung mass is bad and good.

my 17's were a pita to fit without scrubbing.

 

had to trim part of the rear valance and bend back the metal arch where it meets the sill as it scrubbed like mad.that was a 40 profile too

 

that was lowered 30mm too
