have you checked both the earth and pos leads to the battery a tight and secure, my mate had this problem turned out pos lead was lose in the connector even though visually it looked fine. have someone turn the key while you wiggle both leads.

are all those wires meant to be in, as the lot of the wires are seriously corroded.

.....and it's not those wires! Assuming your wiring is same colours as mine, the wire you need to look at is the pale bluey green one.

The problem is that the terminals in that multiplug corrode & disintegrate. Obviously you'll need to repair the wires that have detached, but it's the bluey green one that needs attention...it's the one going to the starter solenoid.

Hi mate I would say there all meant to be in, mine are corroded and the red wire you show pulled out of mine I can tell you this should be the coolant meter the yellow not sure but a search on here for brown multiplug will reveal all

I plan on just soldering all my wires together into one and doing away with the multiplug.

cheers.

Off the top of my head the red and yellowwires are for the water temp guage and warning light. As said this will not stop the car from running. Its the thicker blue wire that is for the starter motor (the one next to were the wires have snapped off).
