Can You Fit A 306 Gti Engine In A 205?

Recommended Posts

No not in the engine bay in the boot!

I will be starting my GTI 6 conversion soon and will be purchasing a work horse 1.1 or diesel 205, will the 306 engine fit in the boot?

Cheers, Ali

no bother, its just a pain to lift it in by hand and i would also put down some wood to take the weight of it save bending the boot floor..

Haha, nice one! Won't have to worry about borrowing a work van then. Have a engine lift to hand so shouldn't be too hard.

Thanks, Ali

I used old seat belts to strap the engine to the rear quarters incase of an accident , where the engine may join you in the drivers seat, much better than ending up as a puddle of blood and snot!

PUT WOOD DOWN! I thought "wood? What for? It'll be fine" it wasn't fine there is a big dent in the boot floor

I managed to fit a gti6 engine and box in the back of mine no problems at all. A bit of card board on the floor was all I used nothing was bent or damaged.
