Cd Player Stopped Working

Ive checked all the fuses and the wires going into the back of the headunit (and tried other head units) and none of them are getting power. Im trying to reach the plug where the cd player wires plug into the cars loom but i cant reach it. I have a ph1 interior so the plug im trying to reach is at the front of the cd player slot rather then at the back like on the ph2 cars. Am i going to have to take the heater controls and everything out to reach it?
