Bonnet Slam Panel Cut Away

Recommended Posts

MrG

the clearance between the air filters on my carbs to the slam panel is quite close making access to that area a bit of a pain. I've seen many have this area cut away, so if uou have this did you do it yourself or have someone do it for you? If so would an engineering firm help if I supplied a std panel for them to cut away?

A jigsaw with a metal cutting blade in it will make a neater job to be honest, but a grinder will also work. To do it neatly drill through the corners of your proposed cut out with a holesaw of something like 1". Then cut to the outside of the circle with whatever implement you decide. Leaving a nice radius in the corner.

£109!!

Angle grinder or Jigsaw at a fraction of that price will do a perfectly good job.

If you get it from JML direct it will be cheaper, i just could not find it and its very good for many other jobs and it will do a good job of it.

Another vote for an angle grinder with a thin disk (0.8/1.0mm)

Unpainted or finished, but this was done with a grinder with a 0.8mm cutting disc.
