my prob is my 1900 phase two car seems to run hot i mean just under three qtrs on the gauge. my first thought was head gasket . but then may be not . my fans cut in at 3qtrs up gauge . just wonder would a new rad help theres no air in coolant system, and no water in oil coolent level is constant. from other 205 gti ive owned temp always seemed about half way up gauge any idears

If it's definitely bled correctly, then chances are either the thermostat is knackered or the radiator is silted up/corroded.

Had exactly the same problem with mine.

 

I just bought a new rad and it has been fine ever since (I dont think mine had ever been changed)

 

It can't hurt to get a new rad for it even if there is something else wrong with it

yes that was my thoughts also of course as its running so hot oil pressure seems a bit low but then oil must be like water as car is running hot. will try rad change may thanks peter
