Where To Get "certificate Of Conformity" For My Cti

Recommended Posts

lagonda

Have been told Peugeot may be able to supply this, but only Peugeot in the UK as it's a UK market car. Furthermore they may be pretty expensive? That said "DRIRE" in France might do it, & cheaper too.

Anyone able to confirm/deny, or add to any of this?

I understand I only need to change the headlights to LHD to get it through the CT (Controle Technique = MoT), or is there anything else to consider?

You can swap the fog light and reflecter or add a second fog (that way its legal here as well) if its a phase 1 or 1.5 if its a phase 2 you can just swap rev light and fog light.

you can't swap the fog/reverse lamp, they are shaped for each side of the lower valence, though the actual lens/backing itself is identical, you need the different lens.

I was chatting to a Sylva Fury owner who lives in France and he was saying that the law is either about to change or has changed so that any car that is registered in an EU country can move to another EU country and be given a registration for that country. I don't know who to suggest that you contact to confirm this but perhaps some of the French members of this Forum might be able to help. So, it may be that you will not need the C of C.

Yes you will definatly need to either change them over or put a second one in, had mine in germany for 3 years (BFG) and had the second one fitted so it did not need changing back on return to uk

Thanks Roddie....looks like I'll need a LHD (left side) rear fog light as well then.

Any more observations anyone on the Certificate of Conformity?

Phone Peugeot customer care quoting VIN number - pay £30 - wait about 1 week - CofC (2 line letter) arrives in post.

Dead straightforward.

Thanks guys...think I'll try & get to the local DRIRE here & see what they say they want/can supply.

AMG-Al...I've seen as much as £200 quoted as required by Peugeot to supply this certificate....so any chance you have contact details for relevant Peugeot dept/office? email address would be handy as my mobile's useless..but could perhaps ring when I get back to England in a week or so.

The number is 0845 200 1234 and just go through the options or the email address is customercare.uk@peugeot.com

Definately £ 30.00 - just got one last week.

I've just seen this post on the Locost site which does seem to confirm the above;

Hi peakrevs,

Cor, that's a lot to read through! Many thanks for seeking that out. Not too sure it helps (brain overload not helping!). It doesn't specifically deal with older cars...there is mention of harmonisation 1993 (or was it 1996?!)...whatever, that post dates my car, which is 1989. I do know later registered cars have a type approval reference (which I think appears as item K on registration documents), & for those, no CoC is necessary. My log book needless to say doesn't have an item "k", let alone a type approval number....& I'm getting the impression that having waded through that lot that the exemption from needing red tape cr*p like the CoC is based on accurately specifying the particular vehicle, presumably by means of the type approval number. Aaargh!

Hi AMG-Al

Thanks for all the info...at least £30 is affordable, if I really do need one!

Hi rich

Many thanks...actually use totalfrance forum but hadn't spotted this post. That said, such helpsheets while very helpful, often aren't up-to-date, so wouldn't rely on it as 100% accurate.
