Speedo Cable

Hi I have had a wobbly speedo needle since getting car so decided to go to ECP and get one of them about £19 inc vat. Fitted it today along with some white faced clocks I bought of here sometime ago, went quite smoothly. Gets in car for a drive and omg its wobbling like crazy way worse then before! I thought it might be these white clocks I bought of here so put my original clocks back in and they are wobbling exactly the same crazy! worse then before?

 

Anything I could have done wrong? or is it a really bad cable from ECP?

 

It clipped into back of clocks ok the cable and the gearbox end was abit fiddly trying to slot it in but it sempt secure, I will try and reseat the gearbox end.

I got an original from Pug for ~£23 and so far no problems. But it has only been in for a few months. I wrapped it in silver heat tape to try and reflect away some heat to stop it drying out.

well unbelieveable I fitted my old speedo cable with the white clocks I bought of here in and its smooth as anything now a lot better looks my old clocks were at fault with the jerky needle. Still can't believe that ECP speedo cable is faulty BN! I know i'll be going back to them for a refund!
