Recommended Posts

blessed6383

after removing my dizzy and re-fitting now the car wont start (didn't mark it before removing) does anyone know where this should be fitted (correct angle) as need to move the car but cant get it running again it ran fine before but would not tick over as timing wasn't set corect.

I know he bracket is broke but it still has the bottom one so can still be tighten up and this is only temp anyway.

cheers

If it goes on like an 8 valve engine then the cap is on the wrong way round, as is the main body of the distributor.

having said that I have no experience whatsoever of these lazy man devices so I don't know if that's still correct!

so the vacum cylinder type thing wants to be near the top? take it your firing order is swapped 1-3 and 2-4 are the other way round if your cap is facing backwards? do you have a pic mate?

I've got an H&H dizzy so no vac but it should be near the top.

I can get a pic for you later if you still need.

The firing order should be the same as your turning the whole unit round.

Miles

You need to stick number 1 at TDC and check which lead goes and fires in the cap, No point of anyone saying which way the cap goes as I;ve seen these in all sorts of direction's.

Mind you want to sort your water system out as blanking off the outlet above the stat housing is a big NO NO

i take it to find TDC on number 1 i need to remove the plug and slide a rod down and rotate engine untill the rod is at its highest point? i assume this is the right way but thought it best to double check?
