Two cars collided on Aberdeen’s South Deeside road in Maryculter, close to the Old Mill Inn.

The driver of a green Peugeot 205 GTi had to be cut out of the car by fire services, before being taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance.

The driver of a Chrysler PT Cruiser, which was badly damaged in the South Deeside Road crash, was treated for shock at the scene by ambulance crews.

Pictures like the ones on the website scare the bejesus out of me although I hope it looks worse than it was as the fire crew understandable were more interested in getting the driver out instead of preserving the 205.

Looks like a fairly narrow windy road. Just takes one small mistake. Hope everyone is okay. Anyone know is the GTI driver is a member on here?

I lived up in Elgin (Near Aberdeen) for 8 years and you were guaranteed a handfull of young road fatalities every year. Without casting aspersions on this particular crash, the fact of awesome roads, not that much for young 'loons' to do, and a strong performance car culture made it a guarantee that lives would be lost witout exception year in year out.

I knew personally of lots of horrific incidents in my time there unfortunately.

This guy was very lucky

the lower dee side road is an amazing road all the roads round this way are great. but can be very dangerous blind corners humps and hidden openings. as said only ever saw this 205 once so maybe he was a new 205 driver.looks like the pt cruser pulled out the junction and the 205 was motoring a bit.

fingers crossed every one is ok.

there are a good few road deaths up this way every year which is not a good thing such a waste of life. and as said always seems to be the younger generation.

Our 205s definitely don't fair too well in a accident

This just goes to show they are just one big crumple zone on wheels

With todays n cap rating they are always going to come up against something much harder than them

Hope the driver is ok

know the road well. head west another 500yards and hook a left, one of my favourite roads.

That south deeside road is a death trap. my mate wrote off his 6 month old Astra VXR about 2 miles down the road

I know that bit of road very well having previously lived in Aberdeen and spent many evenings driving that direction to visit an ex. Some fast straights with a lot of blind corners and hidden junctions. It's not unusual to have cars coming down to the junction on the left of the video and fail to stop.

that looks upsettingly similar to the aftermath after my car was hit by a lorry, same angle impact and damage. Looks like i was very lucky!

good job it was lhd by the look of that!

not a griffe cause as said has silver wheels, plus red bumper inserts and half leather.

Looks pretty bad, either the PT cruiser has pulled out of the junction or the 205 was in the middle of the road as its a left hooker?

knowing the road, and as mentioned above already, the accident is right on a junction . the smaller road that is joining the main road there is very straight and very steep with very poor signage. the 205 if going west at a good pace has just left a sharpish right hand bend, so chances are, he would have been much closer to the verge than the wrong side of the road.

oh, and you hit a truck in your 205 and you are here to tell the tale?! did you put the lottery on that day?
