Removing Power Steering Rack In 205

hello, just a quicky.

 

is it possible to remove a power steering rack from the 205 with the rack 100% complete as i dont want to disturb the ram and pipework?

 

just getting a heads up before i start

Been a while, but from what I remember you can however you will need to drop the sub frame to allow the rack to slide through the side

To remove the rack you do have to drop the subframe to get clearance needed to slide it out.

 

You can leave the ram attached to the rack and leave the two smaller metal pipes attached only needing to disconnect the high and low pressure hoses from the rack.

 

It is all covered in the Haynes Manuel. Hope this helps.
