Changing Gearbox..

I have started to change the gearbox on the 205 today.

I have a few questions...

 

How do you pop of the gear linkages?

What size is the allen key bolts which connect the starter motor?

 

I think thats it really.

 

Just like to say i am a total virgin at car mechanics and so far its going well! The driveshafts are out so i think i am on the home stretch

Small pry bar or screwdriver is all thats needed to pop the linkages off. Starter bolts are 8mm, theres also an allen key bolt on the back of the box at the bottom.

A 10 mm wrench on the linkages, as they are made that way, and just turn, they come wright off.

removing the box is easy, its the refitting that is hard work.

 

i did mine two days ago and my arms are killing me, its trying to hold the box straight and get the shaft in at the same time thats a killer.

ha ha true that. mine's a vts altough not as heavy but my arms were shaking uncontrollably afterwards.
