[car_upgrade] 309 Gti Goodwood

Recommended Posts

sander swinkels

Well, I already own a Miami Blue 309 GTi 16v and a 309 Turbo Cup car, but I guess that it is in the blood.. I just couldn't let this change slip..

I bought another 309 GTi 16v chassis.. :P

This time it will be rebuild to a 309 GTi Goodwood.. But not like the ones here in the UK.. It will be a left hand drive Goodwood.. And also with a rebuild Mi16 engine..

Pics:

002.JPG

003.JPG

It's the idea to get it further stripped.. Then get it to the painter to paint the inside and the enginebay.. Then in the winter rebuild the engine and put it back in..

Then back to the painter to spray the outside..

The engine that needs to go in, is the following:

004.JPG

Suspension at the front will be a KW coilover set..

Rear is not decided yet..

Already have the Goodwood badges.. And the steeringwheel and gearknob are coming soon..

Also have the Goodwood rearseats, doorcards.. It's coming together..

Thanks for reading..

Cheers

Sander

That looks surprisingly clean for a 309, they're often quite rusty!

It'll be a very cool car, GoodwoodGTI16 :P

Thanks.. And indeed, it has very little rust.. There are a few things to get right, but not to much..

But over here the most 309's are like this, with very little rust.. I guess it's because of the weather..

Last week a package from the UK arrived..

005.JPG

Me is happy :P

Also emailled with KW-suspension.. And the send me a new set of stickers for the coil-overs..

A few months ago I already bought the Goodwood rearseats.. And the doorcards..

Yesterday I bought a BRAND NEW tailgate..

There'll be another package arriving soon too! :P

Shell looks great base as said, will keep an eye on this Sander!

You'll need the interior rear arch cover trims too, these had a small cushioned leather-covered section that goes between the door card and seat on Goodwoods. :)

Here's another update:

Now I can start cleaning.. Bead Blasting.. Electroplating.. Powdercoating..

Just have to order the bearings, and then everything can go back together soon ..

Soon more..

Update time..

I decided to change my plans for the enige.. I bought a 306 GTi.. so I thought that it would be nice if I would use engine out of that car.. Now that I'm changing my plans for the engine, it might become a 3.0 V6 engine.. Not decided yet..

also bought a set 406 Brembo frortbrakes. And a set Phoenix Side skirts for a 205.. But they will be adjusted to fit..

I will be posting some pics soon.. I'm searching for someone who can do soms sheetmetal work on the car.. Some parts need to be taken out.. And new pieces need to be welded in..

update with pictures soon.
