206 Lx - Reving Problem!

Recommended Posts

supersub14

I have a 206 1.1 lx and at random times if im stopped at traffic lights it starts to rev up itself. I have to switch the engine off to stop it. It then takes me 2 or 3 attempts to get her started again (sorta as if shes flooded).

What would be causing this? Would it be some sorta choke problem? Or a sensor? Ive checked the throttle isnt sticking.

Ive took a pic of the engine so if someone could point me in the right direction on what i should be looking for:

I dont know my way round this engine so help is needed lol

most likely to be the idle valve on this engine as its still a cable throttle I think, idle valve is on the back of the throttle housing, can just see it at the top of the picture.

you can find a lot from these by getting them plugged into a diagnostic tool though.

Phoned a few breakers there. None local have a 1.1L engined 206. Would that engine (or idle valve) have come in any other make or model?
