Anyone Have Experience Of A New 205?

Recommended Posts

Carl Chambers

I bought a 205 D-turbo brand new in 1992 (J-reg), sadly crashed it big style in 1993 (was 13months old and mint!)

then bought a 106 keywest 1.4 d new in 1993 (L-reg) with the payout as my insurance went through the roof!

then had a 106 s1 Rallye in 1995 (M-reg) as these had free insurance!

then a 106 GTi in 1998 (R-reg)

Had my first one , White 1.6 GTI in 1990 and it was an 88 F reg with 13180 miles on the clock bought private from Grappenhall Warrington for £6250

....What a car for a 19 year old to own back in the day.....

Sorry mate the area is Grappenhall in the town of Warrington, little stunning village near Lymm....THE HOUSE WAS HUGE ....

As you come to mention WW2 the American Airbase was only 2 miles away from the house and a friend owns a huge area of land within what was the base back in the 1940's, the M56 there was the actual runway for the B52's and Spitfires and Hurricanes....

She saw it in Kwik fit a few months earlier and spoke to the then owner who said he was thinking of selling, she asked him to give us first refusal if he did, next thing i heard was a phone call at work from Lorna " do you still want the 205 back"

"Well i'd have to see what state it's in" said I

"Good, its on the drive, I've just bought it" says she

I was a very happy chappie until i noticed the seized rear beam !!!!

Still a pretty good surprise I thought

"I will have to get me a Lorna they sound pretty cool " ;)
