What Is The Green Engine Bay Relay Used For ?

Recommended Posts

mickie

ive searched but cant find it, i know the answer is kicking about somewhere though..

looking through the wiring diagrams the wipers use 2 relays, one in the fuse box and another somewhere else.. could this be the second relay used for wipers at full speed ? sending constant power to wipers ?

The front wipers only have 1 relay and its on the fuse board in the glovebox. The second wiper relay is for the rear wiper and that can be found next to the rear wiper motor.

The green relay in the engine bay near the header tank is for the headlight dim/dip.

cheers adt, im just trying to work out from the wiring diagram how to wire my wipers up again without its original fuse box..

if you look through haynes http://www.buzzboxx.co.uk/Haynes_205.pdf page 196

there is a relay on the fuse box, 98 and another relay marked 98 outside of the box, this is whats confusing me..

is this relay part of the stalk switch ?

any help is appreciated

That haynes diagram is a bit confusing. A 205 can have either a relay on the fusebox or an external one but never both. All the 205s i have seen just have the one relay on the fusebox.

Excellent diagram, much easier to understand than the haynes one.
