Liquid_106 97 1 Cars Posted July 19, 2010 CDS To embelish....... From SD website - have a look as there's some good info for your 'additions' such as this CDS Carbon Steel Otherwise known as Cold Drawn Seamless Carbon Steel, this is the material is used to manufacture all of our standard motor sport and 4 x 4 roll cages as it conforms to FIA material specification requirements and offers good elongation and weld-ability, which are key. Compared to T-45 it is a very cost effective material.
Jrod 7 Posted July 19, 2010 Modify the cage and it will no longer be FIA approved.

Jrod 7 Posted July 19, 2010 not a concern if its purely UK based MSA regulated competition afaik. I'd have to check my blue book and I can't really be bothered I'm sure I was told if modified you can't use it on UK stage rallys when I was looking and adding to an OMP.
