Mi16 Into A 205

Recommended Posts

Hi There.

I have put an Mi16 into a 205 and want a different way of doing the air intake. Most are suggesting that i'm to move the washer bottle and hang a pod filter behind the headlight.

The way I would like to go is to use a 309 gti 16 elbow from the throttle body to the air flow meter, but being in Australia I am limeted in finding one. Can someone suggest where in UK i can purchase one? I have sent some emails to breakers but not really expecting any replies from them.

...a good speed shop maybe ?

Many thanks,

Mark.

Hi Mark,

I do a shortened inlet hose for the 205Mi16, which gives you more room to fit your air filter.

I did mine using the 309 16V hose too, plus kept the original 205 airbox:

The 309 GTI16 was LHD only, and so never sold in the UK, so you won't have any luck with breakers. I bought the hose new from Peugeot, it was about £22 at the time (2006), but it's gone up to £36 now. The part number is 1424R7 if you want to try ordering it, but Aussie dealer might not want to order weird stuff like that.

Thanks guys this is so much help. First I will try for Ryans method. I do like the elbow that keeps the factory look, even though I will be going for a cold air intake at the rear of the bonnet. Ryan can I ask if the Peugeot supply was in the UK or did you go to where the cars were sold?

If I cant get that part, I will go with Stew's pipe.

Thanks again for the help.

Another point worth mentioning is that if you have the BX hose it's actually longer than the 405 item.

I ordered the pipe from a UK dealer. They had to order it from France though, so it took a couple of weeks to arrive.

I received my intake pipe last week. I ordered it from a company called peugeotpartsdirect.co.uk They were the only ones (out of about 20 emails sent) to respond and were willing to ship the p[art to Australia. Very happy and fits great.

Thanks for you help guys. The part number was the key.
