Limited Edition 205s

Recommended Posts

Batfink
Grey carpet, full grey leather and PAS as standard. Also, the later ones were phase two whereas the limited editions were phase 1.5. The main thing is the numbers were actually limited, 1200 in total, 300 of each type.

whereas after it was an optional extra so common as muck.. :(

wouldn't that technically be a gentry? sorry to split hairs. :)

Fair question, but no. They were actually a GTI Auto for foreign market iirc and i believe they have normal GTI (1.6?) interior and exterior fittings and as such did not have the beige or black leather interior of the Gentry. Also, they came in normal GTI colours and not just Sorrento or Aztec. They are rarer than the Gentry too.

Only the paint became optional, all the interior bits were only available on the limited edition ones. Don't get me wrong, I don't think they are anything special, I scrapped my sorrento green 1.9 a while ago, but they were a limited edition.

I think you should look for 1.3 Rallye , they are getting very very rare and are great unique cars

The rarest UK 205's are a yellow GTI or the right hand drive Griffe. One of each made.

I have a 1986 XY8 engine GT and it does need a fair bit of rust repair though. It has 108k on the clock. There seems to be a few of the ph1.5/2 around but iv only seen one of the ph 1's for sale on piston heads in the past five years.

I have also heard of the one and only right hand drive Griffe, I'm sure I heard that just Gti's broke it for parts in the end or something?
