I was driving a 205 on a motorway when the gearbox went bang, I prepared to stop on the shoulder when I realised it was only fifth so carried on in fourth. It didn't sound nice but it got me where I was going. Chances are you've blown the diff so its game over but if you have a decent diff, a quaife or something, it is more likely you've done the next weak point which is fifth.
