Aerodynamic Aids

I'm looking to experiment with some down force on the 205, not sure really where to start. I've been looking at the T16 and like the look of the corner splitters as that is really where I need the most traction.

Also I've wanted to try and get a bit more weight on the rear end for high speed braking but have a feeling a daemon tweeks spoiler would be a war crime :)

IMO my suspension set-up is perfect for me I just want to improve on a few little things :)

What do you guys think??

Thanks

James

Is this for the twin turbo? You should consider something like this.....

I'm sure with a bit of tweaking you could make it fit :)

Underside. Get it as near to flat as you can. Like a dinner table...

Prefer billiards myself!

Starting with the underside will give you a good ground to start with, and dare I say it somewhere for your suspension setup to start evolving from as this will give you the most advantage.

jimistdt im loving the front spoiler, i really couldnt drive that car with out feeling like a complete T***

I should have mentioned that i have an alloy sump gaurd that covers the complete front underside and a alloy tank gaurd again covering the tank and beam area, ive got some thin sheet that contiues from that to the rear bumper.

Do you think it may be worth while doing the floor pan as well or is this a little over the top??

Sorry i should have mentioned that before

Thanks

James

I'd just work on reducing the drag. Cut the rear bumper out, flatten off the floor as much as you can, and think about smoothing off those four big parachutes on the side of the car :) Some SPA mirrors like i have would be cool as well

There was a good feature on small car aerodynamics in racecar engineering (or maybe race tech) magazine, where they tested a load of aero package options on a mini. The most successful modifications were to "duct" the radiator by blocking off the areas around it, fit a front splitter of around 100mm length, and to fit a flat floor. I don't think the rear diffuser was that successful as there wasn't enough space to make it of adequate length, and the rear wing was hampered by being mounted almost completely out of flow due to regs - the higher you can get that the better.

have a look at autospeed.com.au they cover diy splitters, undertrays etc etc, and their effect upon lift and aerodynamic efficiency.

hope this helps.
