How Much Is Too Much?

Hello, just fitted one of the springs to the oil pump that increases the pump output to 6 bar in my mi16 engine, but now a bit worried that its too much. When you first start the car in the morning the pressure gauge reads 7 bar, and if you rev the engine over 2k the gauge drops off to 0 bar, guessing there is some kind of relief valve in the gauge or sensor. Pressure then shoots straight up to 7 bar.

 

Once warm the gauge reads 6 bat at 3k and above and all seems fine.

 

Anyone else used one of these springs without any problems or recon i could be damaging the big ends etc???

its a standard factory spring from the iron block engine, so I doubt that on its own would cause any issues whatsoever, did you fit the guide pin?

 

have you checked that the wires are on the correct sender/switch?

Guide pin? not sure what you mean by this

 

the sensor hasnt been touched and was working just fine before i fitted the spring, could change it for another sensor just to check.
